Meet our new teachers

This year, we welcome 12 new teachers to the College. We spoke to them to help you get to know them better.

Damian Owen - Head of Rice House

Damian began his teaching career in Physical Education, and has taught in both England and Australia. He comes to us from John XXIII College, where he served as Assistant Deputy Principal of Year 10. In his spare time he enjoys woodwork and metalwork.

Kim Delury - Drama teacher

With an extensive background in performing arts, including major theatre and television productions, Kim brings a wealth of performing arts and teaching experience to CBC. A graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art, he has also taught at St Edward's College, a fellow EREA school in New South Wales, and Fremantle College.

Lisa Speranza - RE teacher

Lisa brings experience in Visual Arts, English and RE teaching to CBC Fremantle, after also previously teaching at Mercedes College.

Chris Sellings - Technologies teacher

Chris joins the Technologies department with 15 years' experience in Interior Architecture and Coaching. A keen Surf Patrol volunteer, he also owns a business in the French Alps which offers skiing and cycling holidays.

Elizabeth Sammut - Maths teacher

Elizabeth joins the College from Mercedes, having previously worked as an engineer before making the move into teaching. She has four children and plenty of pets.

Jenefer Wiltschut - Science teacher

Jenefer comes to CBC Fremantle with a background in Human Biology, having spent time as both a primary and secondary school teacher. Before making the move into teaching, she worked for the Telethon Kids Institute investigating ways of preventing childhood allergies.

Troy Mollica - Head of Sport

Troy begins his time at CBC as Head of Sport, having previously served as Dean of Health & Physical Education at Tranby College. He has been teaching for 14 years, and loves to play AFL on the weekends.

David von Felten - Technologies teacher

David joins CBC Fremantle from a diverse teaching background, having taught sailing and automotive in Geraldton for four years, as well as spending time teaching in Essex in the UK. He has a passion for sailing and kitesurfing when he's not teaching.

Scott McDonnell - Deputy Principal, Teaching and Learning

Scott comes to CBC with a background in Physical Education teaching, having previously taught at Penrhos College, Emmanuel Catholic College and Cunderdin Agricultural College. He loves AFL and is trying to camp in as many remote places in Western Australia as possible.

Mike Pickford - Director of Student Leadership

Mike joins our CBC Fremantle community after 10 years at Mazenod College, including seven years as Head of Year 9, which involved running the Rite Journey programme. He has a passion for boys education and witnessing young men flourish.

With a diverse career in Arts education, Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge to an already stellar Arts Department at CBC Fremantle. Her background is in jewelry and 3D design. She even taught Nat Fyfe Art when he was in Year 3!

Rosemarie Boyhan - Academic Care teacher

Rosemarie joins the College's growing Academic Care team. She comes from teaching in rural agricultural schools, and has a passion for science.
