2020 Award Winners - Edmund Rice Awards

These awards are for Year 12 students who best exemplify those values we hold dear; service, faith, personal excellence and leadership. These gentlemen have taken the Charism of Blessed Edmund Rice into their hearts and have served as role models and leaders for their peers and for the students who follow on from them. These citations borrow very heavily from the nominations of their peers and staff.

William Burfoot

As the 2020 College Captain, William has represented CBC Fremantle as an exceptional role model in Catholic leadership and faith.

A mature and intelligent leader, Will sets a high standard and encourages others to rise to the challenge.

His commitment to his faith as Special Minister of the Eucharist casts a further dimension to his quest for personal excellence, reflecting a young man of fine character and strength of conviction.

A natural leader, Will brings out the best in those around him and helps to build a better world.

Jayden Craven

Jayden continually puts others before himself and his commitment to the College has been exceptional.

Jayden has served this community with a strong sense of justice and compassion and, through his involvement in leading the Kairos programme, has contributed to a positive faith formation experience for his peers.

He is an extremely kind and considerate young man and has proved to be an exceptional role model in living Gospel Values.

Through his attitude, engagement and willingness to help others, Jayden perfectly reflects the characteristics of a CBC gentleman.

Nicholas Dart

As College Vice Captain, Nicholas has conducted himself with integrity, building positive relationships in the community and being an exceptional role model for younger students.

In his role as a Special Minister of the Eucharist and with his interactions with the students and staff, Nic has displayed outstanding leadership qualities and made significant contributions in many areas of the College.

Mature, humble, diligent and respectful, Nic is a wonderful model of servant leadership and is a fine example of a CBC gentleman.

Domenic De Gennaro

Domenic’s commitment to being his best extends to all aspects of College life and he has a natural ability to prioritise the right and just actions for any situation.

Domenic’s integrity and trustworthiness all contribute towards his skills as a reliable and selfless leader who consistently treats others with respect and kindness.

During his time at the College, he has reflected the charism of Edmund Rice by his actions and motivated his peers to do likewise.

Domenic is a man for others and truly reflects the attributes of a CBC gentleman.

Rohan Groves

Rohan is a compassionate, humble and selfless leader who consistently demonstrates empathy and trust, a testament to the Gospel Values that he embraces.

A tireless servant and a mature leader, Rohan has shown great commitment in his role as a Special Minister of the Eucharist and the College’s Faith and Mission Captain.

He is valued for his calm and caring nature and goes out of his way to make new students feel welcome and included in College life.

Rohan has been an excellent role model and is a fine example of a CBC gentleman of integrity and honour.

Lawson Hinton

Lawson is a kind and generous member of the community whose actions are grounded in a genuine desire to improve the welfare of others.

He is a frequent volunteer at all College events and has been an exceptional model of Catholic leadership and faith in his role as Morgan House Captain and Special Minister of the Eucharist.

A humble leader, Lawson takes time to form positive relationships with all around him and is highly respected by all of the student body for his approachability and enthusiasm.

Lawson’s friendly, kind and encouraging manner brings out the best in those around him and helps make Jesus a living reality within our community.

Archer Larwood

Archer has proved to be an exceptional role model in his attitude and commitment to serving and leading the College community.

Archer is always looking out for others and has consistently provided support and leadership in the Arts, selflessly mentoring younger Music students in their development and always displaying kindness and empathy in his actions.

He applies himself to the best of his ability and is committed to achieving personal excellence across all areas.

He is a young man of integrity and honour whose perseverance and quiet strength reflects what it means to be a CBC gentleman.

Thomas Maycock-Hansen

Thomas has reflected the charism of Edmund Rice and by his actions challenged others to do the same.

He is intrinsically motivated by service, endeavouring to lead by example and modelling exemplary behaviour.

Thomas was a participant in the College Philippines Immersion in 2018 and was an inspirational example of attitudes and actions based on Gospel Values to his peers and all who he came in contact with.

His consideration for those who are marginalised displayed a genuine compassion and depth of understanding that distinguishes Thomas as a true CBC gentleman.

Ben Mitchell

Ben is a kind, caring and considerate young man who always has a smile on his face and engages positively with those around him.

Ben has consistently provided support and leadership on many sporting fields during his time at the College, helping to coach younger players and ensuring their success.

He is admired by his peers and the community for his approachable and respectful nature and his ‘can do’ attitude reflects a fantastic commitment to hard work and service.

Ben has been an excellent role model; humble and modest and an example of a CBC gentleman of his word.

Isaac Wieser

Isaac leads by example.
